MIDLAND BUILDING PLASTICS OPENS ITS DOORS IN BURTON
Three well known faces in the building and window industries in Burton-on-Trent have joined forces to launch a new business, which is set to fill a much-needed gap in the market.
Rob Smale, Mick Scales and Lee Walker, who have been involved in a number of local window and plastics companies over the years, have teamed up to launch Midland Building Plastics’ new Burton operation, which will serve both trade and domestic markets with a comprehensive range of plastics products.
This follows the successful launch of Midland Building Plastics in Derby in October 2005, which now employs six members of staff.
Midland Building Plastics will operate from a 5,000 sq ft purpose-designed trade counter and warehouse on the Wharf Road Industrial Estate in Burton and will serve a 15 mile radius of Burton.
The company will stock an extensive range of roofline products, including guttering, soffit and fascia, cladding and trims and lead flashing, together with polycarbonate sheets, conservatory roofs and a comprehensive range of accessories, such as silicones, glues, cleaners and foams.
Mick Scales explains the company’s philosophy:
“Having worked in the industry for so many years, we know exactly what the customer wants - and that’s a top quality product, reasonable prices and first class service.
We aim change to forge long-term relationships with our customers and provide a first class service, which will help them to expand and signal growth for us too.”
Lee added:
“Mick, Rob and I have a vast amount of experience of the building and window installation industries. Our team is fully trained about our extensive product range, which includes market leaders Kestrel. They are knowledgeable in the technical aspects of fitting and will offer friendly, professional advice.
“Often domestic customers are under the impression that companies like Midland Building Plastics only serve the trade. We will be providing a ‘one stop shop’ for both trade and DIY customers and will be open six days a week to serve their needs,” added Lee.
